There is something magical about 4:00.
That time of day when you can indulge in some tea, and a treat or two.
Gather your things and head on out to the greenhouse, friends....
We shall have to set the table with our tea things.
What do you think?
Or, if you'd prefer, we can dine in the parlor?
Everything is so lovely, sipping tea with a stack of books...
Let's gather everyone round, for a lovely party, I say!
Hurry, pick out a teacup!
This one?
That one?
I think I'll have a candy cane in mine :)
And here, you must fill this up with tea :)
Tea with a book, what a splendid idea!
Loving this.
I fancy this one.
Can't say no to little roses....
What about tea for two?
Either way, I'm having this:
Pass this one down, please :)
And then we shall all have some rose tea!
The only thing missing is....well, the biscuits.
What is tea without a treat?
A caramel apple hits the spot :)
And let's not forget the cherry cake!
Rose cupcakes must not be overlooked, either.
Or ruffle cake.
Fancy a macaroon?
I just want to say thanks to the Brits for inventing this tradition and, as I sip my tea, I think:
♥
P.S. What do you do for teatime?
P.S.S. Just for giggles:
Oh Jess! Someday when we own a bakery, we will have to make a ritual of closing the shop for half an hour, to enjoy our tea time! We could have a cute little area set aside, with a cupboard full of gorgeous tea cups, and we could sneak a treat or two from our shop! That sounds simply splendid!
ReplyDeleteI am quite in love with all of those pictures, and am suddenly in the mood to bake! Speaking of which, we need to set a date to practice our ruffle cakes!
Until next time dearie!
xoxo, Ariel
Oh yes! What a lovely idea! And don't forget the poofy dresses for teatime! Our little bakery will be glorious!! An yes, let's get together to make the ruffle cakes :) I have been dying to do so for a while now anyway. Perhaps we can try next weekend or something? You need to show me how to do that frosting technique!
DeleteToodle pip for now!
I want that windowed green house! It is divine. I can imagine all kinds of tea parties and 'goings on'. I was at a tea party the first of November, it happened on my birthday, but the host didn't know until someone else told her. (I don't like being 'fussed over'.) Anyway, it was a delightful time in rural California near the central coast. I had never had Lady Grey tea and fell in love with it, as it was one of the main tea flavors that was served, and prefer it a little bit weak.
ReplyDeleteThank you for these scrumptious photos!
Cheers!

That tea party sounds lovely! I think that would be my ideal birthday party too! A surprise tea party just sounds so divine...sigh. And I have never tried Lady Grey! I need to do that :) I must say, I am in love with all of the hot chocolates, coffees, and teas that accompany the holiday season and make everything so cozy. All I need now is a cottage...haha. Cheers!
DeleteOh Jessica I just love the new design on your blog! Keep it! It's so beautiful. I love the gorgeous assortment of tea cups you have collected. I like when people put a stack of books with a tea cup on top of it. Looks so vintage and delightful!
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks! I will definitely keep the design :) (at least...for the Christmas season, haha!) I tried uploading some pics I took of all our Christmas stuff, but for some reason, my camera took the photos in RAW, which isn't compatible with the uploading program we have on the computer. So until I figure out how to fix that, I won't be able to upload pics...except from other websites. Hopefully I get it figured out soon though!
